Happy Day

Today is such a happy day :) Mika turns 6 months old and well my mom turns forever young  ( she will kill me if I reveal her age ) haha joking, maybe not.....

So, today we took Mika to the Sky Beach at the 35th floor and we wonder how would he react? Will he hate the sand? Will he eat the sand?

He turns out to be loving the beach ( ok fake beach ) very much! he was exploring with the sand and even try to eat it at one point!




Happy times with Grandpa :) Both smiles makes me oh so happy! :)

Mi Familia, My Family

I think I watch too much Modern Family, hence I used... Mi Familia 

How was your mother's day? Mine was good and it was my first time celebrating as a MOM. Mika's smile was my gift ( altho i received it everyday haha ) and Marcus' gift to me was
 'ANYTHING VOUCHER' which I haven't claim. 

I wonder what should I ask for? Any suggestions?

He also did mention that when Mika is older, they would plan something exciting for me together! I certainly cant wait till that day :D * excited

We celebrated at Mei by FatSpoon where Chelle actually cooks for us ( something outside of the menu ) If you are wondering, Chelle is dating my brother in law, that's why we got this special treatment, don't be jealous :P

OK, before dinner we actually took Mika to the Sky Beach for some fun! Mika loves the sky beach very much and he loves splashing water or even sound of water. Made in Taiping ma...

The Sky Beach was full with young expatriates having a blast! Normally it's not that pack and I always prefer to go during the weekdays anyways. Less crowded! No beer can or wine bottle lying around. Yup, sometimes these people or their visitors can be quite uncivilised. I mean, how hard is it to throw rubbish into the bin? 






Since I was young, my parents always took us to the beach, like Pulau Perhentian was one of our favourite holidays with their gang, something like my Party Divers Gang :) Gosh, I miss holidays.






Oklah, I admit I had some fun playing with Mika's toys! Don't judge me. I am still a big kid, and also I got another confession to make... I can't wait till Mika is old enough to walk so that I can bring him to the kids playground where they have lotsa balls, where you can dive in and hide with a gazillions balls. Sounds very awesome to me! Where ah?

My family! All BLACK cos we GRUNGE! Just kidding! Our tops were Christmas gifts from Martin and Chelle, finally get to wear it cos when Mika received it was too big for him.



With my mother in law, my parents are currently in Alaska, enjoying their holidays.. thats why they are not here, dad keep on posting his holiday pictures which makes jealous! The scenery is just breathtaking! I wonder when can I travel overseas?

The day ended with STICKERS! Yes, another confession... I LOVE STICKERS! Used to collect them during primary school! I am sure everyone has stickers album right? Mine is full with SAILORMOON, SPICE GIRLS and furry stickers. I remember those furry or puffy ones were the luxurious one hahaha! 

We also celebrated our ANNIVERSARY! It's been 6 years since we started dating. Marcus asked me, why don't you choose one. Either we celebrate this or our wedding anniversary.

I told him why don't I plan for every dating anniversary and you can plan for every wedding anniversary, seems fair right?

So this year I was craving for some seafood since I don't really get to eat much during my pregnancy and confinement.

I took Marcus to 38 Grand Hyatt at 3pm for some seafood platter. You may ask why not lunch? Its because ala carte menu only starts at 3pm and why not dinner? and we weren't free during dinner time

Fine.

 So, 3pm... where everyone, more like all the ladies were ordering their high tea menu, we ordered our seafood platter. 

When the food was served, everyone was looking at us.

But we didn't care and we laughed a bit! I just want my seafood!




Say hello to 5 Prawns, 4 yabby, 2 oysters, 1 flower crab, 1 alaskan king crab leg, some mussels and clams.

WHY I CHOOSE A SEAFOOD PLATTER? 

Another reason is because that is how Marcus asked me out on a date

We were having oysters at Italianese/Republic Bar when I add a lot of chilli and tabasco sauce on his oysters and dare him to eat it! 

He then asked what can he get by doing so?

I said anything

He asked me out for a date

( awww... )

I thought it was kinda a hard task since he has to swallow all that spiciness right?

I WAS WRONG!

After knowing him better, he actually cannot survived without chilli on his food

Cis, so easy to get me out on a date LOL




Oh ya! I cut my hair shorter, wanted to look more like a mom since everyone said I don't look like one and mana tau people said I look younger. Mission failed? But I super love this haircut by Number 76, Bangsar branch by Jillian!

UNIQLO DAY WITH MIKA

I have been waiting for this day to come. To shop at UNIQLO with fellow bloggers and dayre moms and not forgetting with my two lucky winners : Mommy Christine and Mommy Audrey, congratulations again! I recently run a UNIQLO Kids instagram contest and the winners gets RM 200 voucher to shop at Uniqlo Kids in Fahrenheit 88 with me and Mika!




So, today Mika is taking over my blog to write about UNIQLO!


Mika’s story :

Yawnnnn~!!!! Today mommy woke me up earlier than usual, about 7am and told me that we are going shopping at UNIQLO with other babies and mommies. I was really excited! We left about 8 but it was slightly jam due to the marathon :(

Lucky we were still on time! All the kids and mothers arrived about 8:30 - 9:00 am and while we were waitingoutside, anticipating what UNIQLO had in store for me! Cos mommy said today she will buy clothes only for me and most of my clothes all too small already since I am growing quite fast.

I saw mommy talking to new friends and I wonder who there are, then mommy told me it’s her
Dayre Mom friends like @notataitailife, @kimberlycun, @broughtup2share, @kookish, @thistletrinkets, @omamee to name a few :) They all also brought their babies and I was happy to see them but a bit sad cos babyC can’t make it! If you don’t know who babyC is, he is the winner of the contest but he was sick on that day! Wish you speedy recovery,bro!



Anyways, this is a picture of babyC’s mother! Mommy Christine! Isn’t she beautiful?




I also met up with this guy called Baby Liam and his mommy @kimberlycun, I heard mommy told me that she knew aunty Kim when they are both pregnant! Meaning Liam and I met before while we were in the tummy? * confused



I was also introduced to Aunty Audrey and her two sons, Cobysaurus and Mitchiesaurus! So cute right their dinosaur name! Mama, I want also! I call myself Mikasaurus! RAWR!




Mommy also took pic with Baby BEAR and Aunty Jeslin! I think grandma was carrying me waiting for my balloon, that’s why I am not in this picture. Next time I wanna be in the pictures too!




Mommy also took picture with another winner, Aunty Audrey and Jie Jie Isabelle! Mommy said I was sound asleep, that’s why I wasn’t in the pic! It was actually my nap time!





I was patiently waiting for my balloon and then I saw Fighter seat on my stroller! At first I wonder why, then mommy explained that Fighter wanna try! Maybe he wanna ask his daddy to buy for him too.

Mommy also mentioned that Aunty Audrey and Fighter will visit us at Sky Beach soon so that we can play together, but i think it’s because they wanna chit chat lor!






Mommy then took me to the UNIQLO photo booth to take picture with grandma! At first, I wonder what was that? then suddenly my photo come out and also it can automatically upload in Facebook! I also want one so that everyday I can take happy photos! But mommy said I am too young for Facebook.




Then I saw the dinosaur brothers playing! Actually I really want to join them but I can’t walk or run yet! Nevermind, I can wait when I am stronger, I can join them! Then mommy will have a hard time chasing me cos I am fast! Hehe...

This is actually my first time shopping at UNIQLO Kids, and I dont even know it exist until my grandpa bought me a shirt. I was excited by the choices they have! Their cutting is somehow different, making sure girls look cute and boys like me look sharp when wearing a UNIQLO piece. They have expanded their line for skirts, dresses and cardigans for fashion-conscious girls and also introduced a camouflage and crazy checkered patterns for boys!



Not only that, if you want to look for more formal wear for kids, UNIQLO has them! They have jackets and flat front chino pants to match with their new Easy Care Broadcloth shirts which automatically transform them into gentleman! Mommy please remember to get some for me when I am older yeah! Girls also have lots of elegantly designed apparel.


For me, since I am still young and slowly looking more and more like a toddler, they have expanded their innerwear and out wear collection by offering more colours and patterns! Now I can look fashionable!




Mommy also told me that UNIQLO also does collaborates with top fashion designers and have collaborated with street fashion inspired apparel label Undercover to design UU ( UNIQLO undercover ) for kids!  



Wah! I want everything but don’t have my size yet! I can’t wait to grow up!

It took some time for mommy to choose, she was looking for COMFORT, CUTTING and DESIGN and had difficulties choosing what to buy because they were so many to choose from! So many designs! All so cute! How la? At the end, mommy spend more than my RM200 voucher hehe! Thank you mommy for spoiling me!

When we reached home, mommy opened all the clothes that she bought for me! I was so happy!

I am trying to see how comfy and stretchable this UNIQLO outfit is! Not too bad, I also like that the tag is outside so that I won’t feel itchy inside haha! UNIQLO so smart!




This is a few stretching skills that I know just to test how good this material is for babies, hehe…

Ok la, mommy ask me to sleep already! She said if I sleep early and be a good boy, she will take me to UNIQLO again!

OVERSHARING

The internet these days is getting scarier with people posting too much information about themselves on social media. I am not saying that all social media platforms are bad, but if we share too much, there MIGHT be consequences.

Years ago, I was a very very very naive girl when I first came to Kuala Lumpur. I was a budak kampung from Taiping, who didn’t know how scary the world was. I remember FRIENDSTER was one of the very first social media I was on. I was so stupid that I actually put my real address on my profile and even worse, my car number plate. Yup, that’s how stupid I was. Luckily, it was my elder brother who asked me to remove it ASAP (I seriously don’t know what I was thinking). I also liked to share where I was, what I was doing at the time - and one day, I met with an unlucky incident.

You see, at that time, I had a college mate renting one of the rooms in my condo for a 2-month period. He was very nice, and I thought nothing could go WRONG. He was my college mate and we had a few classes together. I remember, that time, I was sharing a photo of where I was (which was Penang) on Friendster and he saw it. He then called me, asking me how was Penang and all, as if he was making sure that I was in Penang. Everything was fine until he moved out and someone online messaged me through Friendster, showing me a link.

It turns outs that my college mate was selling my bra online because there was a demand. LOL. At first I freaked out, because I realized it was the same day when I posted that I was in Penang. That very same day, he actually stole a couple of my bras/bikini and sold them online. I was shocked, but it was quickly settled. What scares me the most is that particular website. They were selling girls’ bras! They even have this community where they go and hunt for girls’ lingerie if they live in a housing area. Now, that is creepy. So many sick people! Imagine you are home alone, and you posted your LOCATION online saying, ‘my parents went for a holiday, I am eating dinner alone’. Can you imagine what can happen? Whatever you’re thinking right there, IT CAN HAPPEN. No joke. So please, be wise with what you post/share. You never know who is watching you.

Another incident happened again, ahhahhaha I know, why is Michelle’s life so dramatic right? A friend messaged me on Facebook, telling me that this website is posting my pictures. Apparently, someone created a fake profile about me and was asking people to meet me, or worst, to masturbate on my picture. I was like WOAHHH, who hates me so much until they want to do this? This person basically stole my Facebook pictures and asked people to do nasty stuff, and later on, you know what? I found out it was the same guy who stole my bra.

That guy was really unafraid, even after the police arrested him the first time – I didn’t press charges because he was still young and I didn’t want to ruin his future, and now he’s doing this to me, again? I quickly made a police report and went to MCMCto ask them to block that particular website. They were so helpful, and with their help and swift action, the website and user profile were both blocked. Thank you, MCMC.

I went online to try to find this guy but his name couldn’t be found anymore. I was determined, and after a while, I finally managed to find him. He had changed his name to his son’s name. YUP, HE HAS A SON NOW and is MARRIED. I was SHOCKED. I wanted to press charges, I really wanted to, but he has a family now and I don’t want to be the one to ruin his family (especially when I am a mother myself). So I just kept it all to myself. If you are that guy, reading this now - please just stop what you do and concentrate on your family. Don’t do all this nasty stuff.

Many of you may question me - why don’t you just press charges so that his wife and kids will know about this and you can warn all the other girls?

Well, the fake profile was probably created while he was single, I assume this because of the dates of the website being created and he being married with a kid was about 2 years apart. So I just hope that he will sedar diriafter he had his son.

Family is most important to me. Honestly, although I am a blogger, I don’t share that much. For example, I don’t share Mika’s favourite song or his real weight or height..or even the actual time he was born. Sometimes I am worried he might get kidnapped too if I overshared too much information. It’s only natural for a mother to worry.

Having learnt from my own experience, I honestly don’t share as much as I used to. In present time, I may eat in many places but I don’t shout on social media as much anymore. Now, I prefer to enjoy the moment, my food and talk to my friends. Though of course, sometimes I do upload for keep sake and for good memories.

I hope the coming generation will use the internet wisely. Don’t overshare. Protect yourself. Keep it private. Watch the movie: “The Bling Ring”,it’s about people robbing Paris Hilton’s house after she checked in at some location via her social media.

Klik dengan bijak, people! Think before you click or it might ruin your life because once it’s on the internet, it would be forever there. There are many creepers out there, it could even be your friend sitting next to you. Beware of what you share.

Being a new mom, your time is fully occupied with your baby. It is hard being a first time mom. I am a new mom for 7 months already and itsone hell of a ride, I mean of course it’s rewarding, but sometimes you can be stressed up from not enough sleep, messy house, andfight with husband due to parenting and all these are normal. New mom will have to spend a lot of time with baby, like me. I only started actively back to work after Mika hits five months.

Trust me, sometimes shopping can be very tiring as we will have to drive, find parking, then enter the shop to know that the item is SOLD OUT. This is my personal experience. WOAHHHH bad mood the whole day. LOL, but now all of that can be avoided with just one click!

How I stay slim after pregnancy??

I've got a lot of people asking me how I get slim fast after giving birth. Here's my answer or rather what I've been doing for these past 7 months +


1. I stop taking OBIMIN ( pregnancy supplements ) even though I was advised to take after giving birth, but I always seems to forgotten about it, or rather I just hate swallowing pills. Yes, I am the type who cant swallow pills -_-|||

2. I don't even exercise. I can feel everyone is rolling their eyes at me. Ok, let me rephrase, I CAN'T EXERCISE due to my stomach muscle separation which is still not really healed. I kinda lost the ability to run :( which is really sad for me.

3.  I think breastfeeding is one of the key point for me on losing weight fast, even though I eat more   because breastfeeding makes you hungry and thirsty. It is exhausting. It's a love hate relationship. There are a few times where I wanted to feed baby with Formula. I mean, how bad can Formula be, right? Most 80's babies grew up in Formula and we are doing ok.

4. Mika is my cardio. He is roughly about 8 kg. Enough said. I can carry him with one hand. No joke.

5. I am a STAY AT HOME MOM, I do house work too whenever I am free... I scrub the toilet quietly while Mika is asleep.

6. I don't take any formula milk for woman, the doctor gave me a few packets to try on but I never like milk. I only took one supplement called AFA which my MIL ask me to take.

7. I eat clean. My MIL cooks healthy food for us :) Breakfast I will always have 2 fried eggs with bread or sweet potato which Lina steams for me. Followed by chicken, vege, soup for lunch and dinner. We always have normal Chinese food.

So, there you go! This is basically what I have been doing ever since Mika was born.

I still look like 3 months pregnant after Mika was born, but due to stomach muscle separation, I did wore this wrap that the doctor gave me. She asked me to wrap around my stomach and I noticed that my tummy grew much smaller after a month. It's just like a normal back wrap which you can find in a sports shop. I had to wear that wrap to make my stomach muscle joined back so that I could walk again. I remember that part was the hardest, being not able to walk or carry your baby when he cries.

Oh well, everything is OK now and we are all super happy! Mika can already crawl and he keep wanting to walk, so we are getting him a walker soon. Can't believe he's gonna hit 8 months in 10 days! How time flies, right? Before we knew it.. he is already walking, or even worst chasing me out of his room and say things like :

1. You don't understand me, Ma! Leave me alone ( emo phase )

2. You are so annoying

3. Stop spying on me! Don't add me on any social media!

4. This is my girlfriend.

Mermaid Dreams

Mermaid Dreams is a swimwear line which Na Na and I created one year ago in a cupcake shop where we just talking about girly stuff, fashion and how much love we have for high waisted bikini, but during that time there wasn't much choices so we decided to create our own swimwear line. That is how MD come about. After half a year of sourcing for the right material in KL, Bangkok and Singapore, we finally found the right fabric which are imported from Japan. We also have the best tailor who helped us so make our  very own designs come to live! 

MD basically started in May 2014 but it got slowed down because I was pregnant. Everything was on hold as I was hit by bad morning sickness for months! But since Mika is 7 months old now, we decided it's time to restart again with our new collection called Mono Pop.

I've always love to share something good or nice in my blog whether its a story, a service or a product. I get many emails from clients asking me to blog about their product or services but sometimes I reject them because it's not suitable for my lifestyle or taste. I guess it was because I was so sick of water filter products. I had one in my Sunway home but it gave me too much trouble. Firstly, its expensive and secondly, always got problem. My home in Taiping also we use the same brand as the Sunway home and my dad finally decided the best it just to boil water as the trouble was too much.

Hello everyone! I am writing this in the hospital :) with 3/4 cm dilated! heheh, just wanna update you all that I am fine and can't wait to meet my son! I actually check in to induce, but God is so amazing that I don't have too now! ( if induce, contractions are more painful ) I will write a full story blog post soon when I slowly recover :) Cant wait to share my experience of giving birth naturally, hopefully no emergency etc! 

Today I sempat go wash and blow my hair at the saloon cos I won't be able to wash it for quite some time. I don't know how long I can tahan not washing it after delivering my baby. I am currently feeling happy now and so relief that I don't have to induce :) My contractions are not that painful at 3/4cm. I just feel like a bit of tummy cramps only. 

My sister, Jillian and Jordan came over to help with decorating my room :) These are all the pictures we took just now. 








Lina was trying to create a zen mood room for me so that I can relax and give birth happily and stress free :) I am so bless to have a sister like her who truly cares. Love love love!

Ok la, Im gonna go rest now as I can feel the contractions are more and more painful :) Cant wait to see my son tomorrow!

Labor Pain

Are you ready to read this post ? 

I am very sure most girls who haven't experience this will find it
quite a journey...

Know that my first option was to deliver my baby via natural birth without any Epidural

Ok, here it goes! On my 39th week appointment, my doctor told me that my baby is
 huge for my size and she was worried my baby's weight might increase some more as
it did quite drastically for the last week and since I love to eat sweet stuff. Yes, I admit, I've been eating 
a lot of Skippy x Nutella with bread and Durian Ice Cream during the final 2 weeks.

My doctor suggested if I wanna induce labor
 (  is a procedure used to stimulate uterine contractions during pregnancy before labor begins on its own. Successful labor induction leads to a vaginal birth. ) 
In my own terms, bagi perut sakit dan baby akan keluar. 
They will have to insert a tablet thru your vagina to begin labor.

I told her to give me two days to think about it and during that two days, I was cutting down on my sugar but I was still very hungry.
 I tend to get moody or will stressed out if I don't eat something sweet.
 I was very frustrated and I told Marcus that I might give Induction a go 
because I was afraid if I keep on eating, the baby will grow bigger which might lead
 to emergency caesarian and I don't really want to go thru surgery. 
I wanted to experience natural birth.

So, we called the doctor and set an appointment where I then checked in on Monday night
and will probably give birth on Tuesday morning. But when they were preparing,
the nurse found out that I was already 3/4 cm dilated and she said, OMG, we don't have to proceed with this procedure. 

I was so so so so so so HAPPY when she said that, meaning I don't have to go thru
induction where I get to save money and because all along I wanted it to be natural.

That night I was excited, I kept asking Marcus that how come I don't feel the pain yet? It was 
already 10 pm when the nurse told me that I was 3/4cm dilated. She then asked me to sleep and that she will check 
on me thru out the night. Nothing happened, no pain till 5:30 am then she came in and injected  some liquid ( I don't know what's it called ) into the place where the "sun don't shine" and not even 5 minutes, I rushed to the toilet to let everything out. Best feeling in the world hahah. 

Then they shift us to the labor room by 6:30 am where they started to put drips on me and then it is when my contraction pain begun. Marcus was beside me the whole time. The pain was still quite bearable the first 2 hours till about 8:30 am, the doctor then came in to visit me and my water broke, from then on the contraction pain became much more stronger. It was starting to be so painful that I asked the nurse for pain relief options 

1. Epidural
2. Laughing Gas
3. Pethidine

I opted for Pethidine because they said it will make me sleepy and it's just a normal injection at my buttock and it won't hurt compared to Epidural. The nurse said it will make me sleepy and not concentrate on the pain so much so that I can rest and then save energy to push later. 

I was so sleepy that I don't remember much till the contraction was super super painful.
That was the worst pain in my life. The pain was there every half an hour and gradually got closer and closer till pain every 2 minutes if I am not mistaken, and I remember Marcus was beside me, I was squishing his sweater which he wore and sometimes his hand. It gotten so painful that the nurses provided me with laughing gas as well. Marcus was in charge in feeding me the gas whenever my contraction pain came. 

Bearing the pain for about 3-4hours, I was then already 8cm dilated. The nurse told me that I can start preparing myself to push. The gas did helped a little, did not really stop the pain but it kinda took me of my mind. It was quite addictive because I felt better after inhaling it. But I think I over used it cause I was super drowsy by the time I was supposed to push. I was even smiling and telling Marcus : Are we going diving? Remember Pom Pom Island? I miss diving. I said that when I was quite unconscious. I could barely open my eyes. 

I couldn't really concentrate and keep making mistakes when the doctor ask me to push. I forgot the breathing techniques and Marcus was trying to keep me awake when there was no contraction pain. He was so supportive and he witness everything. EVERYTHING, as there was no covers.

What I remember was pushing about 2 times and the baby is out. But Marcus told me I pushed 4 rounds, 3 times per round. Honestly, I didn't even know that the baby was out as I don't really remember the last few parts of the labor. I was shocked when the doctor placed the baby on my chest, I remember telling them :

Oh, my baby is out already???

I was semi awake then. But I remembered the look at Marcus' face when he saw his first son. I will never forget that look.

The doctor then told us that my placenta didn't came out and it was a rare case and she was trying to take it out and even mentioned that I might need to go to surgery right away if she cannot take it out manually, but she managed it and told me that my placenta is huge because the baby is huge. Thank God I don't have to go thru surgery. She then sew me back ( yes, she actually cut me open and stitch it back, but don't worry ladies, due to contraction we don't really feel it )After that, I slept for about a good one and the half hours in the labour room while they clean my baby. 

Later I was pushed to our junior suite, we wanted a bigger room because we have a huge family and a lot of our friends were coming to visit. Once I reached there, my family greeted us with a huge smile and congratulated us.

I wasn't discharged the very next day because I needed extra rest and monitoring. I kinda knew something was wrong with me as I couldn't walk during the first day and the second day.

The nurses in Prince Court were TOP NOTCH! They were so so so supportive and caring! I give them 5 stars for their service! I was so blessed to have helpful nurses around me. They are so encouraging and told me that I am a brave and strong mommy and they salute me for not taking Epidural at all as they were shocked by my size and my baby's size. Hehe...

The doctor came in the next day to examine why I can't walk, and told me that my stomach muscle had separated because the baby was big for my size. I was devastated. I was sent to physiotherapy right away. I remembered I cried  after the session when Marcus pushed me out and I saw my parents.  I was so depressed at that time, for not being able to walk and the doctor said that it will take about 6 weeks to heal.

With me being not able to walk, my mom had to stay back to take care of me. She and Sheena helped me during my toilet trips to clean up myself. I wasn't mobile. 

The worst part was that I couldn't  carry my baby and be the mother who is alert and always on top when the baby cries. I had to rely on my family whenever my baby cries. I can't play with him, carry him when he cries immediately, changed his diapers or bath him. 

I was mostly bed ridden. I felt like I wasn't a mother just yet. 

That is also why I said no to guests coming to visit at my house at the time being. 

Sorry yeah! Let me recover first! 

Our families has been very supportive and it was my dad who asked me to face my fears and try to walk forward. Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that I discovered that I could walk backwards and side ways with stockings! So basically I was moon walking for 2-3 days haha, but very slowly lah of course! 

So after a week, I am glad to say that I am now able to walk forward slowly. I can now carry my baby and walk to the other room to change his diapers. YAY! My stomach still hurts whenever I walk, but it's bearable. God will heal me. 




Thank you to my lovely husband for being so supportive during the delivery room, cleaning the house and waking up middle of the night whenever our baby cries. I love you so much!

My breastfeeding story

Breastfeeding / Breastfeed = BF

Some of you might be scared by this word or even shiver cause as you know,
breastfeeding isn't easy.

All you need is a good latch, enough sleep, cabbage and fish in your fridge, patience, enough  rest and always have a glass of water /red dates drink / milo by your side when you are BF.

The first milk is called colostrum and that's the most important for your newborn during the first 3 days. During my stay in Prince Court ( 3 days ) the nurses encourages and teaches us how to BF your baby and they will not give up till your baby is latched on properly.

Mika is considering doing really well and BF wasn't a problem till we got home.

On the fourth or fifth day, my breasts got engorged. Meaning no more colostrum, hello milk!

I didn't had enough sleep and I could felt like my breast was hard as stone. I forgot what I've read so far about BF via online and suddenly I was BF-ing Mika from 1 am till 5 am and there was no milk. Note that I was also sleepy at that time and couldn't really concentrate.

I turned to panic mode and begun to cry, dahlah I not enough sleep and now NO MILK? 
It was like a dry well and I didn't know till I was curious why isn't Mika sleepy? Why he keep on latching and latching but he still wasn't full? 

It was till I try to get some milk out and notice it was dry. 

Then I went online to check and found out the cabbage actually helps during engorgement.

THANK GOD I had cabbage inside my fridge and quickly I put two leaves on my breasts and it cups perfectly, like little mermaid.. and next thing you know, milk started flowing in.

So now you know, days before you EDD ( Estimate Due Date ) please buy some cabbage and put in your fridge. 

I was so happy and Mika slept well after he was full. 

On the side note, do not cover your nipple with cabbage, so make a hole in the middle! After putting it on for about 5-10 mins, clean it a wet cloth.

The other thing I learn was every new mother needs her rest and sleep in order to produce moremilk. This is really really important, so when the baby is sleeping, you try to sleep too. Confirm got milk! 

Fish is another source which helps to produce more milk! I have fish everyday and I can't leave the dinning table without finishing it. 

When you are breastfeeding, you get dehydrated fast... so remember to always have a tumbler or a glass of water right beside you. You don't wanna wake up in the middle of the night coughing while leads to waking the baby up!

I could say now that things are getting better, I have enough sleep and Mika and I will automatically wakeup during night time feedings. I feed normally every 2-3 hours and I will also pump out some milk just incase if I want to sleep from 7 am till 11 am, then my mother in law or Marcus will feed the baby via bottle cause mommmaaaa need some rest! 

The milk did spill once or twice and I was like : NOOOOOOOOO!!! It's LIQUID GOLD! It's too precious for me to lose some :( But of course I didn't cry over spill milk, I am now more careful when handling breast milk now. They are seriously precious.

Being a first time mom has really changed me. All my attention is now to my baby and how to raise and take care of him properly. NO mom is perfect. Do all you can is the best! Breastfeeding is indeed challenging, but don't worry, with some tips, you will find it quite enjoyable during breastfeeding and it's a great way to bond with your baby.

I will BF Mika each boobs till he latch out ( normally 15 mins each boob ), burp him, then check his diapers before sleep time. It's very important that you check all those before sleeping or he might wake up earlier and you'll have to wake up again to see why is he crying.

It's also interesting how my milk will just flow when Mika is awake! It's like an alarm clock :) Mika and my boobs are somehow connected!

Mika Full Moon

Hola~ 

I can't believe it's been a month plus already since I gave birth to Mika! Some say it's so fast but honestly, I THINK it's a bit slow for me because I was counting down the days! LOL!

Motherhood is hard. 

It is a 24/7 job.

Go hug your mother now.

As you all know, motherhood started pretty hard for me because of my stomach muscle tore during labour and it's slowly getting better. I can now walk and sleep in my favourite position and I can carry Mika easily whenever he cries. So, now at night I nurse him by myself.

I am still fully breastfeeding Mika every 2 or 3 hours. On a good day, Mika will let me sleep for 4 hours, but sometimes I wake up every hour to nurse him. So basically I got not much sleep during at night and yes my eye bags are pretty bad! 

My mother in law will help me when I last nurse him at 7 am and she will take over and let me sleep till 11 am or 12 noon. She will bottle feed Mika with the breast milk which I pump. I am currently using Medela Swing, if anyone wanna know and I love it. So far no problem and no, it doesn't hurt to pump.

So far one of the biggest challenge for me is BURPING. You seriously must know your baby's gesture. Every cry or sound means something. Mika also throw out a lot of milk if I don't burp him properly and yes, we change many outfits in a day for him. So, please prepare more clothes. I am blessed that my milk supply is quite good. It usually overflows and even spray on Mika's face. My bed now is filled with towels and cloths just to clean him from overflowing milk and also to protect my bed sheet and pillows. It can be quite messy and tiring at times. But sometimes funny when you see the milk "pancut keluar" showering Mika's face or the bed, thanks to eating lots of fish that my parents bought. 

Also, Mika's timing couldn't get any better! He usually cries when I am about to eat or poop. NO JOKE! This happened a few times already. I don't have time for myself anymore! 

As for the changes in my body..... oh well, the tummy is still there along with the stretch marks and my boobs are so much bigger which leads to 

I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!

Seriously, only Sheena and Nessa knows how I feel as I was trying on my old clothes in front of them. I was like  -_-|||| 

I SERIOUSLY NEED TO SHOP!

I CANT FIT 50% of my old clothes, I wonder how could I fit into size 0 last time? I just cleaned my wardrobe and hope to shop soon.

That is why I don't have any #OOTD pics at all! I am mostly wearing loose shorts and big tshirt. 
I really miss dressing up and I can't wait to go out and shop! I really miss blogging about fashion and going to fashion events too! I will try to keep this blog content more on fashion, beauty, lifestyle and motherhood ok! 

Please bear with me for a while! I need to go out and see what's new!


We also celebrated Mika's Full Moon recently at La Casa located at Verve Shops Mont Kiara. So now whoever wanna find me can meet me at Verve shops as its the most convenient way for me just to walk down using the private lift from my unit to the shop lots! They've got Podgy & The Banker and also B Lab Cafe. Trust me, there are many things to consider before packing stuff for Mika when we want to take him out. So I rather just meet at Verve Shops and enjoy a cup of Iced Chocolate or Camomile tea.

We rented the whole space for dinner at La Casa and I am glad everyone love the food! The place is super cozy and I love the rustic feel to it. Thank you everyone who came. At first, I wanted to do a small party but at the end we invited about 100 people to celebrate with us. We were so busy that day till we didn't really take any pictures at all with my camera. Everyone was on time and we were busy entertaining families, relatives and good friends all around. I wished I took some pic but luckily Moose Pixel from Jillianundercover.com came to the rescue and send me some awesome pictures! Hope you like them!

It's been a while since I posted anything about fashion. To be honest, every since Mika came to my life, I shop less for myself and more for him. I do miss shopping and styling, I do miss having a styling job too but I cant do it because the hours are just too long and I can't leave Mika as I am breastfeeding him. Hopefully soon, as I plan to wean him after he turns one year old.

Anyways, back to #OOTD.















Got this TOP from #FASHIONVALET #FVOOTD #LOVEit ! I actually saw it in their Instagram and I really wanted it, so I actually went to their POP UP store in Bangsar Village 2 to try their sizes.
Got this in XS as it's quite huge. Plan to also wear this for my KOREA trip this November, during Fall to keep me warm and fuzzy.

Leggings from TOPSHOP which I bought many many years ago. Sunnies from TOMFORD and lastly my new boots from MELISSA! It's my new favourite from their MELISSA STAR WALKER FALL WINTER 2015! 


Once you have a statement shoe, it's actually easier to get dolled up. Everything that you gather will automatically look amazing once you have a statement piece in your ootd. This Star Walker is also super comfortable ( Everyone knows Melissa shoes are super soft and comfy ) and it kinda reminds me of my childhood during the 90s, my Spice Girl era where platform shoes were so in because of them. 

I can see the 90s fashion is back, especially with the A Line jeans skirt and the infamous neck band that every youngsters are wearing now. I was shocked to see that my time trend is now back, which means I am getting so much older, lol. Back then when I was wearing it, people used to teased me... some even commented it looked like a dog collar and ever since then I stopped wearing it. I guess people are more mean and less fashionable back then. 

We all know that the bell bottom jeans/pants are in trend now, you can see me wearing it every day to my tuition class back in 2000. Then the hyped stopped when the skinny jeans were in and I remembered clearly that time I told myself I ain't wearing bell bottom anymore! but.. now... hahhaah, I am looking for one high waisted piece. LOL. I SHOULD HAVE NEVER SAY ANYTHING! Because it has now come back to bite me. So yeah, I am looking for one high waisted bell bottom but the flare must be a smaller, not too big. Do not confused this with a PALAZZO pants, which is looser.

11.5 things that I learned from being a mom

A baby will change your life forever. Some say that you will get your life back when they leave for college. Wrong. ( Well, at least for me ) I can imagine myself at 50 years old, sipping wine in the living area thinking how is my son, what is he doing? Is he safe? Sounds like a paranoid mother right?

YES, because we have the RIGHTS to be PARANOID! Now I truly understand why all moms are like that.

We gave birth to you, we nurture you till you are able to stand on your own. We put so much effort and love. So, when your mother calls you on your mobile, you better answer! 

Back to the main topic, here are 11.5 things I've learnt from being Mika's mother :

1. I shop more for my baby than yourself.
    True, I stop shopping for myself when I am at the mall, I only head to H&M and UNIQLO to look at baby clothes. I will only shop when my parents are around to help take care of Mika or I shop online when Mika is asleep.

2. I smell like Chanel x Breastmilk
    Yup, if anyone of you is wondering, that's my perfume at the moment. My milk comes out every 4 hours and will leak out. A few times when I forgot to wear the breast pad, it overflows and you know how it ends. So embarrassing! 

3. I gave Mika the iPad in exchange for quiet time for at least 20 mins. 
I used to think that I will never ever ever let Mika play the iPad but now I take it back. I surrender. I need my 20 mins of doing nothing and just not think of anything. That's my zen moment. He always wants us to carry him when we are eating, so I just on his favourite music and then we can all eat in peace. 

4. Toilet time is my luxury time. Peace and quiet. That's when I check all my social media stuff.

5. Being a STAY AT HOME MOM ( SAHM ) is EXHAUSTING! 
I miss going to work and do what ever I want according to my time, now my work time depends on baby's time LOL, I can only work if he's asleep or a quick iPad run.

6. I got not enough time!!!
 Sometimes when I thought he's already asleep and that I can do my chores or work, he just wont let go of my nipple ( I breastfeed my baby ) and trust me, the shape is very very different now -_-||| Yes, I got bigger boobs but the nipple is also like XL size and the worst part is uneven boobs! WOAH!!! Madness. I wanna wear a nice dress also cannot, I'll have to make sure I have a push up bra with no wire cos if there's wire, it will clog up all the breastmilk and it would be hard as rock. No joke, it's really painful.

7. You will remember all of your baby's TOY SONGS!
Yes, it will stuck in your head! Mika has a lot of toys which has songs and music in it, and trust me.. by the end of the day, you can automatically sing it all during your shower, when you are getting ready to go out, or when you are doing NOTHING! LOL

8. We need to find all the lifts in the shopping mall. 
Yup, it's like a stroller meet up point. Bye bye escalators.....

9. Breastfeeding is really tiring. When I was preggers, I told myself that I will do it for 2 years.
 I take it back. I think 1 year is good enough! It is so exhausting, I don't know how moms do it for 2 years. I am weaning him off when he turns one in October. There were times where I will just stare at the FORMULAs at the grocery store. Blank stare, dazed and confused. Then I will walk away and tell myself, few more months left.. few more months left :)

10. Patience is you best friend, and so is the iPad. 
Baby will make the house messy, scream and cry at you to test your patience but mostly will reward you with a smile after. 

11.  After all the headache/ torturous night your baby gave you... you know you will do it all over again when they smile at you.

11.5. No, I am not pregnant.

What's in my DIAPER bag?

This is a super long awaited post! Can't believe Mika is already 11 months old and now only I am writing what's in my DIAPER bag. Finding the right bag is hard, and even now I still don't really fancy my ZARA bag, but it's the best option for me now, wished it had a zip then it would be perfect.
So, back to the main topic.....

WHAT'S IN MY DIAPER BAG?



1. Diapers from Drypers for Mr. Poo Poo 
2. Pigeon Wet Tissues to clean Mr. Poo Poo
3. Extra onesie incase terkena Mr. Poo Poo
4. One piece of cloth to wipe his saliva or anything
5. Mika's favourite toys is a MUST
6. Mika's favourite book 
7. My breastfeeding cape 
8. Mika's water bottle
9. Mika's biscuit
10. My wallet and phone

What's not included in here?

This is what I learned from my MIL, to put a wet cloth in a tupperware so that we can wipe him clean after a meal or even when he's sweating! We don't really use the wet wipes on his face.

Sometimes we also pack his porridge along with some fruits in another tupperware, then our bag will be really full~ and trust me it takes time to prepare all of these! So normally I will have my bag ready with all the essential stuff which I wont remove, so that I can pack faster. For example 

1. Diapers from Drypers for Mr. Poo Poo 
2. Pigeon Wet Tissues to clean Mr. Poo Poo
3. Extra onesie incase terkena Mr. Poo Poo
4. One piece of cloth to wipe his saliva or anything

All these will normally be in the bag already, once used I will replenish it and keep the diaper bag in his closet. 

So, normally you will see the #flatlay of the items but this time I am going to show you behind the scene pictures as well

I took this advantage while Mika was sleeping and faster arranged everything and quickly snap some shots for this post.

Thank you Mika for being a good model and not waking up, or else I will not have the time to do this




One of Mika's favourite book, Ping and Polo! It has 4 sets all together and we managed to find 2! Thank you Scholastic for helping us find this wonderful book which Mika adores.



This is one of Mika's favourite biscuit which can keep him quiet for a while, hahahahahah! But he eats it really fast! SIGH! Any mommies out there can recommend anything which he will take some time to finish?

One of my favourite BUYS of the week! LOVE LOVE LOVE this OPPS blocks which I found in Robinsons. I ended up having more fun compared to Mika who only knows how to chew on it 


More colourful book and yes I am a fan of Eric Carle, the author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It was one of the very first book that I bought for Mika while I was still pregnant. I read to him almost every night, and not forgetting GOOD NIGHT MOON, which is recommended by Sheena. 


New books of the week! Thank you Scholastic for the amazing gift to Mika. We were so excited when unboxing this gift! You can't get enough of books! 


Some new toys which I bought for Mika from Toys R US! His birthday is next month and we are going with the JUNGLE theme! So all of this figurines will be on top on his cake!

I've already started planing his party like a month ago. I was always on PINTEREST, trying to figure what's the most suitable theme for his FIRST party and came to the conclusion with the JUNGLE THEME. At first we wanted the F1 Car theme but Mika is too young for it so we decided to keep it for the coming years. We also love the NINJA WARRIOR theme which my brother in law showed us a video but Mika is still young, so we decided to keep it for the coming years as well.

So I guess it's pretty much settle for his 2nd and 3rd birthday theme party ? Hehe



So yeah! I am very excited for his first birthday party! The dress code is Your Spirit Animal, we will be sending invites soon. For this whole month I will be busy DIY-ing some deco and have to start ordering cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and many more! So many things to do, so little time!

From Work to Baby!

Hello everyone.

Gosh, I am really tired but I am still finding time to blog. I could just fall asleep now but here I am blogging because I do miss blogging! Anyways, here's some updates on what I've been doing.

WORK & BABY

Yes, I've been working on Mermaid Dreams and also teaching Mika how to walk.


Today I woke up earlier than usual and got ready for work. I am pleased to announced that Mermaid Dreams is the official swimwear sponsor for MISS UNIVERSE MALAYSIA 2016!

 YESSSSSSS!!!!

 I was busy getting ready for this MUMO press conference where they revealed the 14 finalist. I must say, some girls are not that bad, so we are very excited about this.

Which one do you think have potential?

 I've a few in my mind, based on her walk and poise when she was walking on stage during the MUMO press conference. Hope Carey will groom them all to be more poise and confident. Some are still a little stiff but I am sure by January, they will be well groomed. Can't wait to watch the series online, and the finale around January.

Right after the press conference, I rushed back to take care of Mika and brought him and my mom to Benbino at Publika.



His face is priceless when he enters the tunnel ahahhahaha :D

my camera is slowly giving up on me, the quality is like getting worst! I think it can't focus that well already :(

So sorry for the bad quality pictures, perhaps it's time to get a new one.


It's really a cute and fun place for mother and kids to hang, not forgetting their desserts are really good too. Haven't try their food but I am sure that I will definitely return again since Mika likes to play there. Perhaps we can do mommy dates!

Mika's FIRST birthday

Dear Mika,

Happy Birthday Son :) 
Can't believe you are now one years old! You've brought so much joy and laughter in our family and with that, we threw you an awesome FIRST birthday.

Mama planned this for about a month to make sure everything goes well and since Mama don't have much time due to taking care of you, there has been some late night plannings and DIY-ing but it was all worthied.

You probably won't remember much, but I hope you can read this blog when you are older and able to understand this.

So, as for the theme of your FIRST birthday, Mama  wanted to do something cute and fun. I know that you love cars and you seemed to be quite into sports, but at this age... it's a little tough, but worry not cos I am saving those themes for your next party. I will make sure it will be F1 theme and NINJA warrior next! 


So, the official theme was

Mama wanted a two tier cake with shades of blue and some animals on top with party hats, quite cute huh? Mom personally made those hat for your animal friends so that they won't feel left out.

Also, do you know that Aunty Jess baked this cake? Top layer is her specialty Lemon Poppy flavour while the bottom is Chocolate Mousse flavour~ Mika so lucky to have two flavours to mam mam :) A lot people asked where Mama bought the cake, so Mama gave them this link : JKBakery




Do you like your fancy dessert table? Those cupcakes were baked by Aunty Liss from Fat Spoon, super sedap! and of course Uncle Ian, Mama's BFF husband printed out all of the visuals :) 




Here are some food which Papa made for us, isn't it creative? We've got ladybug, alligator, dog, cat, hedgehog and even octopus!



We also had this ADOPT A PET section for your friends to take home and play!


Mama also bought this balloon piñata which Mika actually POP by yourself! So smart :)

Aunty Ann was also there to celebrate, you must remember this is Grandpa's cousin and must sayang her every time you see her ok? Must buy for her Moet & Chandon or Matua wine if you are planning to visit her.



Mama  also wonder why Uncle Roy laughed so hard? Haha must be something funny! Or perhaps Uncle Nixon told a joke?



Also, Mama sew both you and your dad's costume... Yeap, Mama went all out and even poked my fingers but it was all worthied. Mama is not good at sewing at all, and luckily Aunty Jillian helped with the headband. Thank you Jill ( kiss kiss )

Mika must remember this two aunty, Jillian and Sheena who played a very important role in Mama's life yeah! We will be going to Korea with them in 2 weeks time for Aunty Sheena's hens night! 


This is Aunty Lavin and her son Nate, she is the strongest woman I ever known!  Mama wish  Mama can be as strong as her :) She's one of Mama's idol! 


This is  Mama's BFF from college and her husband, they bought you that rocking chair which they have one set for themselves also! 


 Mama's beautiful sister, Aunty Lina who is a FALCON on that day!  Mama loves her so so so much!
